Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you use Cadence, we collect the following data:

• Account information — email address, first and last name
• Profile data — experience level, running history, VMA, available terrain, injury history, "about me" text
• Training data — training plans, session logs, RPE ratings, notes, weekly feedback
• Health data — with your explicit permission, we read workout data from Apple HealthKit (distance, duration, heart rate, cadence, elevation, pace splits). This data is used to enrich your training log and improve coaching recommendations.
• Chat messages — conversations with your AI coach are stored to maintain coaching context
• Device information — device language preference

2. How we use your data

• To provide personalized AI coaching and training plans
• To adapt your plan based on your performance and feedback
• To send structured workouts to your Apple Watch
• To authenticate your account
• To improve the coaching experience

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Cadence:

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting (EU region)
• Railway — backend application hosting (EU region)
• Anthropic — AI language model for coaching conversations. Your messages and profile context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate coaching responses. Anthropic does not use this data to train models.
• Langfuse — observability and monitoring of AI coaching quality

4. Health data

Cadence requests access to Apple HealthKit data solely to import workout information into your training log. We do not sell, share, or use your health data for advertising. Health data is transmitted securely and stored alongside your training data.

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in your device Settings.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, training plans, sessions, messages, health data) is permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain. Database access is restricted and encrypted at rest.
