Health permissions
When you grant RunCadence access to Apple Health, we read your running workouts so the coach can see how your sessions actually went. That's what makes weekly reviews and session feedback feel personal instead of generic.
What RunCadence reads:
- Running workouts (distance, duration, pace)
- Heart rate during runs
- Pace and cadence streams (for the detailed analysis view)
- Elevation gain
- Your date of birth, if available, to estimate max heart rate (you can override this in your profile)
- Recovery and fitness metrics you authorize, including sleep, resting heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, VO2max, active energy, body mass, steps, and running biomechanics
Workout detail is read around your runs. Recovery and fitness metrics are collected separately as trends when you grant access. You choose each category, and unavailable or disabled categories are simply left out. See Apple Health data & privacy for the complete list and how each metric is used.
To change permissions: open the iOS Settings app → Health → Data Access & Devices → RunCadence. You can turn off any data category. If you turn off running workouts, the coach will fall back to whatever you log manually.
Notifications
RunCadence sends two kinds of helpful push notifications. Both can be turned off in Settings:
- Session reminder: a gentle nudge ahead of a scheduled session.
- Streak warning: when your streak is about to expire because today's session hasn't been done yet.
To mute everything from iOS without uninstalling: open the iOS Settings app → Notifications → RunCadence and toggle off.
What data does RunCadence store?
See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
The short version, RunCadence stores:
- Your profile (name, experience level, VO2max pace, terrain, availability)
- Your training plan and session logs
- Chat messages with the coach
- Workouts you grant us read access to from Apple Health
Everything is stored in EU data centers.
Can I export my training data?
Not yet directly from the app. If you need an export (e.g. to switch coaches or archive your training), email support@runcadence.app and we'll send you a full export of your plan, sessions, and chat history.
How do I delete my account?
To permanently delete your account:
- Open the Profile tab and tap your avatar.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
This removes your account, training plan, chat history, and all personal data from our servers. The action cannot be undone.
