Connecting Garmin through Stridee

Available in the RunCadence 1.5 beta when the Garmin service is enabled for your account. If Garmin is shown as unavailable, contact us.

  1. In RunCadence, open Settings → Devices & Services → Garmin and start the connection.
  2. Sign in to Garmin in the authorization flow that opens. Review the requested permissions; workout import permission is needed to receive planned workouts.
  3. Return to RunCadence and wait for the connection to be confirmed. You can then enable automatic workout sync.

Why does Garmin show Stridee instead of RunCadence?

Stridee provides our technical connection to Garmin. The connection uses its Garmin application, so Stridee is the name you may see on the authorization screen and in Garmin's connected apps. This is expected when you start the connection from RunCadence.

Why are we using Stridee for now?

We use Stridee's existing Garmin infrastructure to offer this connection while focusing our work on RunCadence's training plans and coaching. We are not announcing a date for replacing it with a connection under the RunCadence name. Learn about Stridee's Garmin connection.

What syncs?

  • To Garmin: compatible structured workouts. Automatic sync covers the next seven days; when it is off, you can send a session manually.
  • To RunCadence: completed runs after they sync with Garmin Connect. RunCadence looks for a matching session; an uncertain match may need your review.
  • For recovery: available, authorized data such as sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability.

Available measurements depend on your watch, permissions and the data delivered. Sync is not instant. After a run, sync your watch with Garmin Connect first.

Stopping sync or disconnecting Garmin

Turning off automatic workout sync stops automatic workout sending, but does not disconnect Garmin or stop authorized data imports. To end the connection, use Disconnect in RunCadence's Garmin settings. You can also revoke Stridee's access from Garmin. Disconnecting does not erase sessions already imported into RunCadence; for deletion requests, see our privacy policy.

If a workout does not arrive, check the connection in RunCadence, workout import permission in Garmin, and your watch's sync with Garmin Connect. If it still fails, email support@runcadence.app with the session date and watch model.

For other connections, see the Strava and other watches guide or the Apple Watch guide. Learn how to review a session and give your coach feedback.
